IBISG Study material for first and second level Buddhism exams
The text in this volume was formulated by the Study Department of the Soka Gakkai International (SGI) to provide a valid global study reference for the fundamental principles of Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism. As Soka Gakkai Italy, we have chosen to adopt this text as part of the study material for the first and second level exams.Starting from the life of Nichiren Daishonin, the founder of our teaching, providing a basic approach to the fundamental principles of this Buddhism, up to the history of the Soka Gakkai and its emancipation from the Nichiren Shoshu clergy, the text contained in this book outlines the distinctive features of Nichiren Buddhism as a world religion, based on humanism and human revolution, that process of "empowerment," made possible by faith in the Gohonzon, which is capable of producing change not only in the individual's immediate environment but of shaping the destiny of humanity as a whole. We are therefore certain that the reading will be engaging not only for those preparing to take the first and second level exams, but for all people interested in learning about the fundamental principles of Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism as disseminated worldwide by the Soka Gakkai International.

IBISG Dictionary of Buddhism
This volume contains 2580 essential terms for understanding the Mahayana Buddhist tradition, which is based on the Lotus Sutra. In particular, it refers to the writings of Nichiren Daishonin Buddha, who worked to restore the humanistic meaning of the teachings of the historical Shakyamuni Buddha. It is one of the most extensive collections of Buddhist terms in the Italian language currently on the market."If the Buddha, after awakening to the Dharma, or the Law of life, had not committed to teaching it to others, his enlightenment would have been incomplete. Furthermore, even if the Buddha himself had expounded this Law without others participating in its dissemination, it would not have brought benefit to people. It is our hope that the publication of this dictionary in Italian can serve to make the wisdom of Buddhism accessible to an ever-increasing number of people, allowing them to find a path to true happiness and thus contributing to the realization of a peaceful world. If, by reading this dictionary, people are able to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Buddhist philosophy, I will be profoundly pleased."
