He also pours all his energy into raising "young phoenixes" and developing the Seikyo Shimbun, which becomes a daily newspaper in 1965. He continued his travels throughout Japan and the rest of the world to encourage members and pioneers of the kosen rufu movement: the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and, for the first time, Mexico, a country that, shortly before his death, Toda had dreamed of visiting. Inspired by his actions, many young Japanese moved abroad to boost propagation and challenge their personal destinies: kosen rufu was taking on the profile of a movement that spanned the globe.

  • Dictionary of Buddhism

    IBISG Dictionary of Buddhism

This volume contains 2580 terms indispensable for learning about the Mahayana Buddhist tradition based on the Lotus Sutra. In particular, it refers to the writings of Nichiren Daishonin Buddha, who worked for a return to the humanistic meaning of the teachings of the historical Shakyamuni Buddha. It is one of the most extensive collections of Buddhist terms in Italian currently on the market. "Had the Buddha, after awakening to the Darmha, or Law of Life, not engaged in teaching it to others, his enlightenment would have been incomplete. Inoltr, even if the Buddha himself had expounded this Law without others participating in its dissemination, it would not have benefited people. It is our hope that the publication of this dictionary in Italian will serve to make the wisdom of Buddhism accessible to more and more people, enabling them to find a path to true happiness and thus contributing to the realization of a peaceful world. If by reading this dictionary, people will be able to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Buddhist philosophy, I will be deeply pleased."

  • The five eternal guides

    Esperia The five eternal guides

President Toda first expounded the three guides in December 1957. He came to formulate these guides after a long reflection while he was struggling with serious health problems. He was trying to clarify what faith the members should aspire to so that each of them, without exception, would attain happiness. Several years later, in 2003, two were added to the three guides formulated by the master by his disciple Daisaku Ikeda. The five eternal guides of the Soka Gakkai are immutable principles for deepening our faith. They point us in the direction for the attainment of Buddhahood and the realization of kosen rufu. • The pride of being golden pillars of kosen rufu

Esperia The pride of being golden pillars of kosen rufu

Dedicated to the men of the Soka family. Japan's ginkgo trees come from China. In the Japanese language they are also designated by some Chinese characters that literally mean "grandfather-grandchild tree," because if someone plants a ginkgo now, the fruit will be harvested by grandchildren. I read this explanation a long time ago and still cherish the memory of it. It seems to me that this name means, "I do not live for myself, but for the sake of the generations that will come after me. I will gather all my life force and accomplish great things!" When I look at a tall ginkgo tree, my thoughts go to the people of previous generations who planted it and cared for it.
